Oronsay to Islay

Today was spent sailing around the west coast of Islay. Note much to see, but a few seals as we left Oronsay, and around midday a minke was seen. The seas increased to large swells and waves, but luckily no rain, just sea spray. We were also spoiled with food today, with fresh fruit smoothies, bacon sandwiches, big slab of cake at afternoon tea time, and a wonderful supper of Shepard's pie (Silurian is a secret floating 5 star restaurant in my opinion). Soon after we went ashore to Bowmore, Islay and went up the main street hill and admired the view of the harbor and Silurian below. We then went back and spent some time in a cozy pub. Back to the boat and sat outside in the cool, increasingly windy evening and all admired the golden sunset. Before we all headed to our bunks, we looked over the chart to discuss where we been, what we saw, where we might go tomorrow and for the rest of the trip in general. The weather forecast calls for rather settled weather til Tuesday, so we will try to use the opportunity to make it out to the Outer Hebrides (maybe see the Barra bottlenose dolphins).

But a key point to remember is: indecision is the key to flexibility.
