A school of herring swam near shore this morning, several bald eagles flying overhead. They dived for the fish below, stretching out their talons at the last possible moment, somehow not crashing into the water and sometimes they were successful. It was amazing to watch an eagle in flight reach its head down to grab the silvery fish clasped in it talons and devour it in mid flight.
