Cuttle fish, with a few sponges and sea pens (Virgularia mirabilis) on the bottom

My personal favorite, this starfish started to shimmer purple before my eyes. Fantastic!This morning was spent trawling and identifying so many magnificent creatures. And this afternoon was spent in the lab looking at some specimens gathered earlier this week in Loch Etive and a few brought back from this morning's trawling. It was a great day!

ReplyDeleteYep, never a dull moment when on a boat....now just have to write a full scientific report on this data and stuff I did this week (which is worth 100% of grade!). Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Wish the geology bit was not cut out :(

ReplyDeleteNo animals were saved for lunch. They all were returned to the see, except a few interesting small things, which were looked under microscope for further identification. Yes, it seems Google sees and knows all (slightly creepy).
ReplyDeleteThis was a good week, doing pratical marine science and I am glad to have had the opportunity....but now it is time to take all the data from this week and write up a formal report! I have got some reading to do!
The program here is pretty neat and this week has given some insight why we need to know the stuff they are trying to teach in lectures!
