Winter Drive Wonderland

Yesterday I took a drive through Rannoch Moor, past Buachaille Etive Mor (the "great herdsman of Etive") an almost perfect pyramid shaped mountain marking the entrance to Glen Etive, then through Glencoe. The sun was shining and the skies clear, but the big freeze continues here in the UK, with temperatures currently colder than the South Pole!!! (not really a good comparison...it is summer in the South Pole after all).

Check out this link to a satellite image taken yesterday of the UK as an Ice Box

  5. I loved the pictures you posted from your trip to Glen Etive, absolutely spectacular. The main roads were fine, but there was no way I could have taken the single track to Glen Etive, I will have to wait til Spring, or at least a thaw! I was hoping to take more mini road trips over the holidays in my newly accquired car, but the weather did not cooperate.
